You can also switch them off by turning the tone knob all the way down and using the Mid knob as a standard passive tone control. this gives you a more open distortion with lots of headroom that can boost the gain of a dirty amp without overpowering it.

So I got hooked up with this pedal from GH Effects. Normally I don't do pedal tests but this thing actually blew me away. I recorded this video through my dads Fender Deluxe Reverb ultra clean amp and the Nobrainer distortion sounds awesome through it!
